Some animation purists say that computer animation, like that of Pixar, is cold and too rendered. Some modern animators believe that hand animation is dead because it is too time-consuming and labour-intensive. Compare and contrast traditional hand animation to computer animation using examples that you are familiar with. What do you prefer and why?

I do believe that the statement that "hand animation is dead" is true. How rarely will you ever see a modern movie or television show for that matter which is hand animated. I beleive that hand animated shows are the more enjoyable animations compared to CG animation. If you look at television the shows that are successful and have been around for a while are hand animated. Take a look at Family Guy, The Simpsons, and South Park, you could say that these shows are the msot successful animated series' and all of them are hand animated, except South Park which is created with construction paper cut outs. I beleive that Cg animation really takes away from the art form and the talent. You look at the work put in and the talent used in both examples of animation, which one actually deserves to be credited as great. Maybe I agree am on the side of hand animation, because that is what a grew up loving, shortly after I was born the CG animation really started to become popular and that is when i stopped watching cartoons. I have to say that i sitll do watch cartoon, but only those that i grew up watching like looney-toon, spiderman, batman, the simpsons, family guy, and south park.
